Exercise Physiology + Long Covid Recovery

Over the last few months we have been receiving more and more enquiries about tailored exercise programs for those recovering form Long Covid. Below are true words from one of any.BODY’s newest members Haunnah, and her educational journey with exercise and fatigue management.

As a 41 y.o fit, busy professional, I was the last person you’d expect to get struck down with the debilitating cluster of symptoms post covid: fatigue, muscle aches, brain fog etc..

Clinical pilates is recommended by the NHS long covid rehabilitation guidelines which is how I found my way to any.body pilates.

From the moment I walked in and had my initial consult with Elle and Georgia, I knew this was the place for me: not only a calming & supportive environment but my recovery was guided by my own individualised care plan by exercise physiologists.

Clinical pilates is very different to a normal pilates class - it’s all about safe movement, individualised care which aims to slowly build up strength and assist with fatigue management.

In 5 months I’ve gone from being bed-ridden to being able to walk 4 km and carry 2 shopping bags up 10 stairs. This is major for me. I have a very long way to go, but have been provided invaluable tips about fatigue management and have learnt my body’s cues from the advice from such wonderful, kind and knowledgeable exercise physiologists from any.body to guide my recovery.

Any.body pilates has brought me back to life.
