Strength Training for 60+

Osteo Strong

A warm, supportive strength program for adults aged 60+ — designed to help you feel stronger, steadier, and more confident in your body.

We keep groups small (max 8) so you’re truly seen, coached, and supported — every session — by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.

Perfect if you have osteopenia or osteoporosis — or you’re simply ready to build strength safely and confidently.
Who this is for

You want to build strength — safely

  • Osteopenia or osteoporosis
  • Worried about “doing the wrong thing” in the gym
  • Want to improve balance, posture and confidence
  • Want to feel stronger for everyday life (stairs, carrying, gardening, travel)
  • Prefer a calm, supportive environment — not a loud, intimidating gym
You don’t need to be “fit” to start. Our job is to meet you where you’re at — and build from there.
The focus

Bone-safe loading, done properly

Building bone and strength isn’t about “being careful forever” — it’s about learning what safe, progressive loading looks like for your body.

  • Progressive resistance to stimulate bone + strength
  • Spine-safe technique (we coach positions and loads carefully)
  • Balance + stability to reduce fall risk
  • Posture and trunk support to feel tall and steady
  • Confidence — you’ll know what to do and why
We keep things clear, calm and coached — so you feel safe and capable.

FAQ

Common questions

Is strength training safe if I have osteoporosis?
Yes — when it’s programmed properly. We avoid risky spinal positions, coach technique closely, and build load gradually. The goal is to feel safe and get stronger.
I’ve never lifted weights. Is this too advanced?
Not at all. Many Osteo Strong clients start as complete beginners. We teach you the basics and progress at a pace that feels doable.
How big are the groups?
Maximum of 8 people. We keep groups small so everyone gets coaching and feels supported (not overwhelmed).
Do I need a GP referral?
No referral is required to join. If you do have a GP referral (and are eligible), rebates may apply for your Exercise Physiology consultations.
What should I wear / bring?
Comfortable clothes you can move in, supportive shoes, and a water bottle. We’ll guide you through everything else — no fancy gear needed.
How much does it cost?
Osteo Strong pricing is the same as our Strength Performance classes. You can view the latest pricing on our Prices page here.
